The Rochester Association of
Black Journalists

The Rochester Association of Black Journalists is a chapter of
the National Association of Black Journalists that covers the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York.
The organization works to groom future journalists of color, help chapter members thrive in their current roles, and advocate for African-Americans to be depicted in a fair and balanced way in the media.

African-American Leadership Development Program

AALDP Media Panel 2015

The 2015-16 Class of the United Way of Rochester's African-American Leadership Development Program held a panel event focusing on how to make stronger relationships with local media. The panelists included many RABJ members including panel moderator Kevin Hicks (VP of Print), Sasha Ann Simons (Treasurer) and Khristopher J. Brooks (VP of Social Media). The panel also included Challenger Community News Sports Director George Radney and Tiana Stephens, a communications producer for the City of Rochester. Video of the event was shot and edited by RABJ President Richard J. McCollough.
